Optimizing User Quality of Experience through Overlay Routing, Bandwidth Management and Dynamic Trans-Coding

چکیده
Accessing multimedia services via fixed and wireless networks has become common practice. These services are typically much more sensitive to packet loss, delay and/or congestion than traditional services. In particular, multimedia data is often time critical and, as a result, network issues are not well tolerated and significantly deteriorate the user’s Quality of Experience (QoE). Network Resource Management for Improving Users Quality of experience in Software Defined Network by Weighted Fuzzy Petri-NetMethod
The rapid rise in popularity of multimedia applications, such as VoIP, IPTV and Video Conferencing, intensifies the need to consider resource management for user satisfaction. Furthermore, improving Quality of Experience (QoE) in Software Defined Networks (SDNs) services is one of the important issues to be addressed by provisioning optimum resource management. In this paper, resource allocatio...

متن کاملPerformance Optimization of VoIP using an Overlay Network
Voice traffic on the Internet (VoIP) is poised to grow rapidly but the Internet is not engineered for such delaysensitive applications. We show how the end-user quality of many VoIP calls can be improved by rerouting them in an intermediate overlay network and thought the use of various path-diversity and error-coding techniques. We present an overlay network (OverPhone) that is tuned to optimi...

The ability to measure end-to-end Available Bandwidth (unused capacity) in the network path is useful for route selection in overlay networks, QoS verification, network management, traffic engineering and real-time resource provisioning, control flow and congestion, construction of overlay routing infrastructure, topology building in peer to peer networks, and call admission control, dynamic en...
متن کاملDynamic overlay routing based on available bandwidth estimation: A simulation study
Dynamic overlay routing has been proposed as a way to enhance the reliability and performance of IP networks. The major premise is that overlay routing can bypass congestion, transient outages, or suboptimal paths, by forwarding traffic through one or more intermediate overlay nodes. In this paper, we perform an extensive simulation study to investigate the performance of dynamic overlay routin...
